Why pick me?

Hello! I’m Jo

BACP Registered Psychotherapist

I am a BACP qualified integrative relational psychotherapist and counsellor, I also have a wealth of life experience we can draw upon. Choosing the right professional by reading a profile is hard so I am happy to chat. I offer a friendly 30-minute discovery call to see if we fit together, and you feel comfortable with me.

ABOUT ME AND MY THERAPY PRACTICE

I worked for a large organisation at professional “front-line” and management level for 22 years, resigning from that role to become a psychotherapist. I understand work related stress and feeling conflicted about what you are doing and why? You may be feeling trapped and isolated in a job you used to enjoy? Are you trying to make overwhelming work-life decisions on your own? Are you being true to who you are? Facing retirement and at a loss?

Having personal experience of domestic abuse, trauma, and addiction I offer no judgement. Our relationship forms the core of our work and I will offer you understanding, respect and empathy. I will always be honest, open and have your best interests at heart. We will work side-by-side at making changes at your pace.

My Expertise

My Training

Having a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Relational Psychotherapy and Counselling I can draw on numerous psychotherapeutic approaches. Together we will create a bespoke holistic therapeutic approach that suits you.

I offer a safe space and a confidential environment where you take the lead in our sessions. We work at your pace and go where you lead.  I take a humanistic approach, working with you, openly and transparently, to address your needs.

My work

I have completed psychotherapeutic work for CRUSE, MIND and DAAS (Derbyshire Alcohol Advisory Service) clients. I have also therapeutically facilitated and supported The Freedom Programme and SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) peer groups for Project 6.
